Redshred Awarded SIFTED for Groundbreaking Naval Aviation Maintenance AI Technology

[BALTIMORE, MD] - MAY 8, 2025- Redshred, a leader in artificial intelligence solutions for maintenance and repair operations, has been awarded a Navy Phase I SBIR for its revolutionary Semantic Information for Faults, Troubleshooting, and Extraction from Documents (SIFTED) system.

Developed in response to the Navy's need for maintaining naval aviation readiness, SIFTED significantly enhances maintenance efficiency by accelerating the development workflow surrounding engineering requests. 

SIFTED utilizes Redshred’s documents-as-a-database platform to incorporate existing repair instructions and related materials from historical archives and include these as part of the development workflow.  SIFTED introduces advancements in analyzing engineering requests, reviewing existing repairs and related materials to produce draft instructions and conducts quality assurance evaluations using a generative AI interface. This streamlines the development of new repair instructions.

SIFTED has the potential to dramatically improve aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations.  Redshred plans to commercialize the SIFTED technology beyond its current naval applications, addressing similar needs within the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and private sector markets.
